Description

Tender and flavorful turkey gizzards simmered and seasoned to perfection, great for stews or frying after a proper cleaning.

Ingredients

1 lb turkey gizzards, cleaned and trimmed

1 garlic clove

1 bay leaf

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice

Optional: buttermilk for soaking

Instructions

1. Clean the turkey gizzards thoroughly by removing inner membranes and soaking in vinegar water for 15–30 minutes.

2. Rinse well and place gizzards in a pot with garlic, bay leaf, and salt.

3. Simmer on low heat for 30–45 minutes until tender.

4. Drain and season with pepper. Fry if desired.

Notes

You can soak gizzards in buttermilk for up to 4 hours for extra tenderness. For a crispy version, dredge and fry after simmering.
